DISCHARGED SOLDIERS.
INFORMATION DEPARTMENT. (From Our Own Correspondent). '■ Wellington, Saturday. No fewer than 8806 men have come within the sphere of operations of the Discharged Soldiers' Information Department up to the present time. Of these men CBB2 have been disposed of f.s far as the Department is concerned, 935 are under action, and 980, including men who returned by recent transports, are not yet ready for action. The number of men on the "employment wanted" register is 159, and 1532 have already been placed in employment. Tho majority of the returned men do not require the assistance of the Department in finding employment, but the officers follow each case until assured that their services are not needed.
