u- • FARMERS' .UNION RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchureh, May 25. The North' Canterbury Farmers' 'Union Conference carried a resolution asking the 'Government to confer with Mr, Massey on the subject of frozen meat in relation to its£ disposal in London and the period after the war during which the contract would continue. It was resolved to urge the adoption of the metric system of weights and measures and decimal coinage, and to suggest that the matter be brought before the Government .with the view'of having them introduced affile end of the war. It was also decided that ft was advisable that the ballot? and medical examination of men of the second division be taken at the earliest possible date so that those interested might have knowledge of what to do regarding their business. ■MILITARY SERVICE BOARD. A SERIOUS ALLEGATION DENIED. y Hamilton, May 25. Before the Second Military Board yesterday, P. L. Corrigan. farmer. Oliaiipo, who was granted exemption till May 30, was confronted With a report received by the Board to the effect that he had openly stated tlmt hj;. had obtained exemption by squaring Mr. Hockly, one of the members of the 'board. The appellant was closely examined by the chairman, Mr. F. Karl. K. 0., in the matter, but swore that the report was untrue, and that he had never approached any member of the Board as alleged.
