' PUBLIC TRUSTEE'S VAIN APPEAL. Wellington, Last 'Night. Before the Third Wellington Military Service Board, the 'Public Trustee appealed on behalf of five members of his ■ ptaft', on tho ground that if the men were taken away some branches of the work g of the Trust office would break down. The Trustee (Dr. Fitchett) said he would give an undertaking that if the cases , were adjourned for three months he would have others trained to the work these men were doing. Captain Baldwin, military representative, said Dr. Fitchett said something similar three . months ago. Dr. Fitchett replied that an effort hail been made in the direction indicated, but the system tried was not successful. The Board decided it had no recommendation to-make. BIG'H PRICES FOR LAND.
