WOMAN'S SHABBY ACT, j t'hristchiu'ch, May 15. Til i.lio Supreme Court to-day Mary Ellen lliggins whs convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon 011 a charge of stealing £6O 16s. A gunner in the Expeditionary Force allotted portion of his .• pay to her, and she was to 'hank it for him. On being invalided home, he found that she luid married, and spent, the money. Mr. Justice Denniston described it as a nuyp shabby act, and said he would have-im-posed a sentence .but for accused's' condition.
