ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, May 15. Private W. Hornblow, of Eltham, was welcomed home on Monday evening by the Mayor and members of the local fire brigade, the latter being glad to welcome back from the front one of their members. Word has been received that Lieut. E. J. Carter, of Eltham,, is returning shortly. "Bob" was always a keen soldier, and eventually found himself at Samoa. Now, after a stay of two years and five months, he is returning during the next fortnight. The members of the Overseas Club, Eltham,* intend holding one of their enjoyable social evenings shortly. The club has been responsible for securing '"smokes" and other comforts for the navy, and has built up a strong membership. The Foresters' Hall lias been engaged, and it is safe to predict a large attendance of members and sympathisers. •
