'Mr. Medley was appointed auditor in place of ths-lfxte Mr. Stockpr. A plan of t'lio members' new drive was left in tlie bands of the Drive Committee to attend t<\ Accounts amounting to £M 4s Id were passed for payment. TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.") Heavy going and success of the "mudlarks" is likely to be the order of the day at Awapimi. Considerable rain lias fallen during the week, and though fields may not be nearly so large as the cards suggest, winners may bo. hard to pick. Probably the warmest favorite of the day will be Cheloma in the Maiden. Miss Sation and Salutory, winners at Hawera, are not eligible to start. It is hard to estimate the strength of the hurdlers, but Mahzoltov is mentioned as a likely starter. Eewipoto is said to be a certain runner in the Autumn Handicap, as is ftang Awa', and the latter will have a "pull" of about a couple of stone, which should stand him in good stead. Gamecock (if started) and Estland may carry most money in the Sires' Produce Stakes. The Linton Hack Welter looks very open, and probably a good lightweight may be as reliable as anything.. Rio and Hastio arc well in, and both show up well in the heavy going. The Awapuni Gold Cup will hardly be a race at all. .Sasanof is out, and, according to a Canterbury writer;, Kilboy •will also be an absentee. It is -iardly likely that Mr. Lowry will risk starting Desert Gold in the mud, and Tne Toff is the orily high-class one left. Sahara, Bawakore, and Hupana have recent form to recommend them in the Wood'hoy Hack Handicap, and Moutoa Queen, Lady Black, and Chakwana in the Telegraph Handicap. The meeting will be concluded on Thursday.

The top-weight, Braeburn, is now a hot ordeij for the Wangamri Steeples, and Bon Reve is the most popular "leg" in tho Century Hurdles "double." Autumn form points to Braeburn, Gluepot, and Nita as the fittest of the 'chasers, and Mahzoltov, Record,, and Bon Revo of the hurdlers.

Leonta and Mouln are going as well as any of the jumpers trained at Wanganui. Postillion gives in-and-out exhibitions, one morning shaping like a champion, and the next like a has-been. VTonder if Alee Hall will catch the big black in a galloping mood next week?

The defection of El flallo ar.d Hylus from the Great Northern Bu/dlps hius cleared the atmosphere, and fair prices all round arc now on offer. The Waimai—El O.allo, and Waimai—Waimai doubles are in most demand.
