LAUNCH OF SUBMARINE CHASER. EXTENSIVE SHIPBUILDING PROGRAMME. Washington, May 13. "■ The first submarine chaser, 110 ft long, hie been launched, five weeks after tho keel was laid. The Shipping Board expects a thousand composite steel and wooden ships, aggregating three million tonnage, to be completed within eighteen months.
