HARRYING THE ENEMY. .United Service. Cairo',. May 13. The Australian Light Horse and Mounted Yeomanry constantly harry the enemy at Gaza, gaining prisoners almost daily, and 420 were .taken in minor encounters in April. The aircraft are also active in rceonnoitring, bombing troops and lines of communication. The British artillery is most effective, scoring many direct hits on enemy guns, blowing up munitions dumps and an -.mmunition store, the latter exploding with a vast detonation, which was heard for miles. PERSECUTION OF JEWS. London, May 13. Router's correspondent learns that all the Jews were expelled from Jaffa at the time of the Passover and compelled to flee northwards. They were robbed during their Sight and their homes looted and destroyed. Those resisting were hanged. A thousand wandered on the roads helpless and starving. Those deported to an unknown destination included masses of young Jews from Jeru- [ saltm.
