ASSISTANCE TO WHEAT-GROWERS. fiHIS Department will grant assistance as follows to those desirous of growing wheat this season:— SEED AND/OR MANURE. Farmers and others willing to grow wheat, but requiring financial backing for the purpose, will, on applying tb-'tke Fields Supervisor for their be furnished with a letter guaranteeing, on behalf of the Department, payment after the harvest to any merchant or other vendor for the teed, wheat and/or manure supplied. On receipt of the Government guarantee the applicant can forward it to any merchant or other vendor, and make his own arrangements with him. Full particulars and forms of application can be obtained at any of the principal offices of the Department. AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS. In any case where one or more settlers are certified by a Local Board of National Efficiency Trustees to have an area of not less than 500 acres of wheat land suitable for a tractor, and wish to pur. chase one for growing that acreage of •wheat, the Department wlil advance the funds on condition that the amount is repaid on terms to be arranged between the farmer and the Department. Applications, giving full particulars, and accompanied by the Trustees' certificate. should be made, tp the Secretary of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Wellington, and should state what terms of repayment and interest would be acceptable to the applicant.
