(Special to Daily News). Wellington. Last Night. Messrs Lonsdale and Co. (Mr. S. Turner, New Zealand Agent) cable that butter is quiet at 204s to :Gfis; unsalted 202s to 2065. The maximum has been reduced by two shillings. Cheese is unchanged. GAMBLING IN WHEAT STOPPED. Winnipeg, April 28. When wheat soared to 282 cents today the censor appeared on the floor of the Exchange and announced that no further trade in futures would be permitted. Thereupon prices dropped twenty points. It was further announced that the Allied Governments had sufficient wheat for present requirements, and had marie no purchases during the last forty cents jump.
