BURGLARY AT AWAPUNI CAMP.

. THIEVES DISAPPOINTED. By Telegraph.—Prong Association. Palmerston North, April 24. A burglary is reported to have occurred at Awapuni Camp during tlio Easter holidays, the Y.M.C.A. hall having been daringly broken into and the safe .removed bodily from the building to a place of seclusion. There had been considerably over £IOO in the safe, belonging to the men, just prior to the holidays, but the owners had been prevailed ■upon by Mr Granger, officer in charge of the Y.M.C.A., to take their money with them on holiday. Consequently, the burglars, who were aftor a big haul, secured only Ifis, which had been left in the safe. The camp canteen was robbed of about £3O worth of goods.
