THE EXPEDITIONARY FORCES.
TWO BRAXCHE& (From Our Owji Correspondent). Wellington, April 20. In was announced Inst week that the commandant of the New Zealand Forcjs had decided to divide the .Expeditionary 1' orce into two branches, the, Foreign Service Branch and the Home (Service Branch. This re-arrangement was made under authority conferred by. clause 37 of the Military Service Act. Steps are now being taken to-classify the. men who are performing military duties within New Zealand and to transfer to the Foreign Service branch soldiers who are at- present engaged in home service bui who are fit for sorvicc abroad. The vacancies that are being created will be filled by men who have been passed as fit for home service only. Hie following home service recruits arc- required at Trentham camp: Seven orderlies, eight cooks, three drivers, one waiter, ten sanitary workers, ten warehousemen and clerks, i\yo carpenters,' one plumber, six strong storemen and one. tinsmith, lien who are fit for foreign service arc not eligible for these duties. Any qualified man who has been passed as lit for home service only after volunteering or being drawn in a ballot may volunteer for camp duty,in one of the branches mentioned above. The military authorities require also ten home service men for'the military police. Keeruits for this branch must have a fairly high physical standard. Twenty-one volunteers are wanted for service with the Samoan Force, The men are required to be. between 4(1 and 48 years of age and thev must enlist for the duration of the war.
