Mrs Golding was hostess to a very jolly little dance which was held at "Rahui" last Wednesday, when a number of Taranald teachers who are attending a scries of agricultural classes held in New Plymouth, were present. Amongst those present were: Mra Golding, wearing a black silk robfr, finished with lace and sequin trimming, Mis? M. Harrison, wearing a pretty blue crepe de chine dress, lightly trimmed with cream lace; Miss Draper, black velvet; Miss .Tenkinson (Eltham), cream .net, deftly lightened with a pale pink satin coatee;' Miss Papps, whita silk voile with berths of cream lace; Miss Foy wore a pale 'blue crepe de chine; Miss Pearce, golden brown silk finished with Oriental embroideries; Miss Riorden. black and white check voile lightly trimmed with black velvet ribbon; Mrs. Brown ('Hawera.V, pretty cream satin frock; Mrs. Wilkes, French grey crepe do chine deftly trimmed with cream silk'lace; Misn Cawie was in a white voilo and lace frock; Miss Prentice, biscuit-coloured silk with chemisette of white ninon; Miss Kepuel wore a shell pink crepe do chine; Miss Nolan, white silk prettily trimmed with lace; Miss A. SOCIAL.. As a wolcome to the 'Rev. F. G. Harvie and Mrs. ITarvie (tlis former hiving succeeded. Hev. A. 11. Colville as Vicnr of St. Mary's), a social was held in St. Mary's Hall last Thursday evening, the Jiall being very prettily decorated for the occasion. Speeches were made by Vcn Archdeacon Evans, Bevs. H. A. Favell, (vicar of Te Hcntti}', C. 11. Grant-Cowcrn (vicar of Ha/ffera), E. L. Harvie (vicar of Inglcwood), and Messrs S. W. Shaw and 0. U. William Pattison Pollock Ciordo'n, M.A., M.8., Ch.B. (lieutenant N.Z.M.O.i, third son of tho late Bev. David Gordon, M.A., of Marton. The wedding was at St. Andrew's Church, Palmerston Korti, and the Eev. Dr. Kennedy Elliott officiated, assisted by the Rev. Ales. Doull, MA. The bridesmaid was Miss Eudey, of Dnnedin, and the. best man was the bride's only brother, Company SergeantMajor P. L. Gordon Jollly, Bachelor of Commerce, New A Zealand University. Sergeant-Major Jolly was at Gallipoli. and lias lately returned from England to take up a commission. Tho bride baa returned to her duties at the. university, as Lieut. Gordon is proceeding to the front. 5 Lady patrons will take special interest in the announcement that a photo of the popular actress Miss Billie Burke will be given to every person in the audience at the Empire to-night.
