(From Our Own Correspondent.) There is likely to be a contest for the Harbor Board seats. Messrs Hurst and Malcolm will be candidates, and probably Mr Woollord. The chairman (Mr Hughson) would just as soon take a spell from harbor affairs, but a numer-ously-signed petition asking him to be allowed to bo nominated will, I think,,-be r successful. . Mr A. H. Moore declines nomination. 1 The fact that a loan proposal cannot be taken for at least two years removes any big harbor proposals and, of course, any initiative from the man of harbor schemes. The farmers will put up candidates. The Catholic bazaar concluded on Friday evening. The last nigdt was a very busy one. It is expected that the. gross takings will reach near £IOO. The secretary, Mr Ted Hickey, in thanking the public for the generous response paid complimentary reference to the other denominations for their generous assistance, and hoped, when the opportunity arrived, that the Catholic congregation would return the compliment. When the Council shows a more progressive spirit the town ratepayers will consider merging in a more favorable spirit than they do now.
