The committee has had promises for the control of the Mart from the following organisations and districts:— Omata and Moturoa, Bell Block and Hillsborough, Girls' Friendly Society, and the New Plymouth Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The committee will be pleased to receive offers from any other society. or association. .Such help is invaluable not only in bringing more, variety in the produce to stock the Mart, but in interesting new helpers in the work. Since the Inst week in January the money collected by means of the Saturday market has reached the substantial sum of £507 3s Md. One haM of the amount lias been placed to the credit of the Society, the other half being devoted to various patriotic purposes under the control of the; Mayoress. The committer realises thai this is due to the loyal and generous support of the people of New Plymouth and surrounding districts, who have, ever since a weekly patriotic market was established in New Plymouth, given such warm-hearted and steady support. Only those in charge can fully realise and appreciate the selfsacrificing devotion of the many women who week after week spend time in preserving/and baking to bring gifts (o be sold in aid of the funds, and the committee is indeed grateful to them, and to the gardening fraternity, who keep up a constant supply of vegetables, flowers and fruit.
