It is officially estimated that English food prices during the war have risen W per cent., and the general cost of living 05 per cent. MILITARY HONORS. NEW ZEALANDERS INCLUDED. Received April 18, 1.40 a.m. London, April 17. Military Crosses have been awarded to the following New Zealandej-.s: —Captain A. C. Hubbard, Lieutenants J. E. Mewett, C. H. Senior, and •F. J. .■Slallard. One New Zealander has received the Distinguished Conduct Medal, end 13 of them military medals. EMPIRE PARTNERSHIP. c LONDON, April W., Mr. Massey has returned from his week-end at Windsor. The King presented him with interesting mementoes of his visit. The Colonial Institute, Empire League, and Victoria League will tender a joint reception to the overseas delegates at the Imperial Institute on Tuesday. The address of -welcome says:— "Many battlefields prove, to. the world that in fighting and death the sons of tlie Empire are not divided, while the presence of overseas statesmen equally proves that their counsels are not divided. We desire to register our pride in the partnership and confidence in uliuinate victory."
