■» COPYRIGHT OF CABLES. PRESS INJUNCTION'S. Australiaii-N.Z. Cuble Association. Received April IG, 7 p.m. Sydney, Last Night.. In the Sun newspaper case in connection with the copyright of cubic?, the defendants accepted perpetual injunctions. The plaintiffs' counsel refused the defendants' offer of '£so damages in each suit in order to avoid an inquiry before the Master in Equity. (According to a cable message published on March 15, the Equity Court granted the Times, United Service and Renter's interim injunctions restraining the Independent Cable Association and Thos. Temperley from infringing, as alleged, their copyrights. Plaintiff's affidavits stated that Temperley admitted personally copying the Sun's cables for transmission to a certain newspaper. A recent 'employee of the defendnnt association stated that he personally heard Temperley instruct employees to copy the Sun's cables and transmit to paners. The judge admitted the similarity in the phraseology of the specimens submitted. WORLD'S PRESS CONFERENCE. A POSTPONEMENT. Received April 10, 0.10 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. Mr. Holman has announced that the World's Press Congress, to have been held in Sydney next year, has been postponed till Easter, 1919. America's involvement in the war has largely contributed to the decision. Mr. Holman promises continued Government support ana co-operation in making the 1919 meeting successful. In the meantime there will be temporary cessation till towards the end of the war of the activities of the Australian and New Zealand executives.
