A wedding that attracted some attention was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church on Thursday last, when Miss Jane MeMullian, only daughter of Mrs McMiillian, of Matau, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Wm. Rawlinson, also of Matau. Miss Hargreaves, niece of the bridegroom, was hridesmain, and Misses Orach; Bint and Aileen McAsey were flower girls. The bride was dressed iu crepe do chine, and carried the r.rthodov orango blossoms bouquet. The bridesmaid and flower girls were attired in white voiles and silk mop caps. Mr. Alex. MeMullian was best man, and Mr. Robert McMiillian gave the bride away. The Rev. Dawson Madill was the officiating minister. After the ceremony an adjournment was made to Smith's tea rooms, where the usual toasts were honored. The happy couple Ifcft by motor for Hawera, en route to Auckland, where the honeymoon is being spenjt. The presents were numerous and valuable. GENERAL. There was an ex&llent attendance at Mr. H. Johnson's farm, Kahouri, on Friday evening to farewell Privates Felton and Paynter. Private Sangster was unavoidably absent. Mr. Neilson was ehairman, and in a few appropriate words wished both soldiers the best of luck in the great adventure in which they were about to participate. Mr. Bonner then presented both with wristlet watches. A very pleasant evening was spent, the pleasure being enhanced by excellent vocal items by Miss Sangster, Messrs B. J. Peters, .T. H. T.ister aiul James. The accompanists were Mrs. Lister and Miss James, whilst the danee music was by Miss James (piano) and Mr. Parker (cornet). The floor was an ideal one for dancers, and the M.C., Mr. Reynolds, was most efficient. Lastly, the refreshments supplied by the ladies were of the most toothsome anci appetising description, Tho delegates to the War Relief Association meet here on Monday, at 10 a.m. The final meeting of the Borough Council will be held on Monday evening. A notice of motion has been tabled by Cr. Lawson that the previous resolution concerning a" minimum charge of 4 units for electric lighting be rescinded. Araeflca. has got a move on at last. We have been expecting it. There has also been a great move-on in Stratford, and wise people have been sharing in the move-on, which operates at C. E. James' jewellery warehouse. Easter gifts have had a big run, but the shelves still hold many useful gifts acceptable for Easter. See the fine range of crock-, ery we are clearing.
