FRENCH SUCCESSES.
PUSHING FORWARD. London, April 12. A French communique says: .The artillery struggle continued to be fairly violent during the night between the Sommo and the Oise, notably in the region of Urvillers. After artillery preparation we attacked the German positions south of the Oise and east of the line Coucv-la-Vilie-Quincy-Basse. After a lively" fight we pushed the enemy back as far as the sortli-western edge of the Upper Forest of Coney and captured several important points d'nppui. Reconnaissances penetrated the German lines at. several points north of the Aisne. Our line is now completely reestablished. GERMAN REPORT. ARTILLERY BATTLE INCREASING. London, April 12. A wireless German official message says:—We reputed attacks at Vimv and Fampnux. We lost Monehv after frequent assaults. British attacks, including cavalry and armored cars, north of Monchy broke down. The enemv again heavily bombarded St. Quentiii, and the artillery battle is increasing in the western Champagne. We bombed camps and munition dumps in the Vcsie and Suippes valleys. The enemy lost 24 aeroplanes.
