All escaped, with the exception of Patrick Twohili, a W el' - known identity, 74 years of age. win was burnt to death. The fire is supposed to have had its ongin in the sitting room, the theory being that it was caused by a cigarette or lighted match. . The building, which was about half a century old, was owned by Staples ana Lo., brewers, and insured in the Atlas Company for £2250, and the contents in the Commercial office for £SOO The li censee was M. liyaa. The fl' ve swept through the second storey of the building, where the bedrooms were located.
