Washington, April 10. Thousands of men of military age at New York, Chicago, and San Francisco are besieging the registry offices for marriage licenses, in order to escape conscription. Chicago already records 1100 such cases.

Washington, April 10. A German plot to dislocate the entire coalfields of Western Pennsylvania has been discovered at Pittsburg. A conference of agricultural experts is being held at St. Louis under the direction of the Secretary of Agriculture to devise, means of increasing the 'wheat yield so as to assist her Allies. It' is suggested that a limit be put on grain for breweries and distilleries, and that a greater percentage of flour should be milled.
Mr. Wilson's advisers are urging that the ■Government's intended prohibition of excessive war profits should apply not only to American contracts but also to for the Allies.
MUNITION WORKS BLOWN UP.
MANY KILLED AND WOUNDED.
Washington, April 10. A Philadelphia telegram states that (■he Baldwin locomotive and munitions factory at Eddystone, has teen destroyed by an explosion. The buildings were destroyed and Philadelphia shaken. It is estimated that- fifty are dead as the result of the explosion and 30U injured, mostly women. The guards at the Capitol have been increased in consequence of reports of plots to blow up the Congressional buildings.
