AUSTRIAN PRESSURE AT WORK.

In view of the German press statement regarding the Central Powers' efforts in the direction of peace, it is significant that there is an Imperial gathering at German headquarters. There arc also other indications, the most prevalent being the belief that Austria is bringing pressure to bear on Germany to end the (struggle, which is threatening ruin to the respective countries, and will endanger the dynasties.
THE SUBMARINE CAMPAIGN. iFRENCH BARQUE'S EXPLOIT. SINKS SUBMARINE AFTER 20 MINUTES' FIGHT. Received April 4, 6.30 p.m. Paris, April 4. A French barque, armed with a small gun, sank a submarine after 20 minutes' fight.
HUNTING SUBMARINES.
WO SEAPLANES ON THE JOB. Received April 4, 11 p.m. Paris, April 3. Six hundred seaplanes are scoutinp for submarines, which can be detected from 00 to 100 feet in depth. The seaplanes drop bombs bursting at fixed depths and carry guns capable of destroying submarines. THE AZTEC'S MISSING CREW. New York, April 3. There are 28 missing from the Aztec, according to the American Ambassador's report from Paris.
