■» , '! PROFESSOR AND MILITARY SERVICE. Dunedin, March 29. At the sitting of the Military Service Board to-day the Rev. Cameron, Chancellor of the University of Otago, appealed on behalf of Thomas Adams, Professor of Latin and Greek, who voluntarily enlisted. Evidence was given that it was impossible to replace Professor Adams. There were only three people capable of replacing him in the Dominion, and they were engaged elsewhere. His assistant, a young lady, might carry on under a modified programme. Professor Adams said that personally he preferred active service. The board dismissed the appeal.
