PUBLIC NOTICES NATIONAL EFFICIENCY BOARD. rpHE National Efficiency Board hereby | notifies that in pursuance of the powers conferred oil it by an Order in Council dated 27th February, 1017, it is proposed to hold an Enquiry at the Old Coynci! Chambers, New Plymouth, commencing on TUESDAY, 3rd APRIL, 1017. at 11 a.m., before THOMAS MOSS, Wellington Commissioner, 'to receive such evidence as may be tendered, bearing upon the advisableness of the restriction, continuance or abolition during the war conditions of:— Agricultural and Pastoral Shows. Amusements, including Picture Theatres. Sports, including Racing, Enquiries will also be commenced on the same day by other members of the Board at Auckland, Wellington, Christchureli, and Dunedin. Further sittings will be held on subsequent dates, to Ij3 announced in the local newspapers, a t Whangarei, Hamilton, Te Avoha, Warjamii, Gisborne, Hastings, Masterton, Palmerston North, Greymouth, Nelsei, Blenheim, Timaru, Oamaru, Gore, ami Invercargill. Any persons desirous of giving evidence in Wellington, Gisborne, Hastings, Masterton, or iPalmerston North should communicate with the undersigned so that arrangements may be made to take the evidence in a suitable order. If desirous of giving evidence in the Auckland, Canterbury, or Otago Military District, they* should communicate with the Secretary to the District Commissioner at Auckland, Christchurch, or Dunedin, respectively. NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. EASTER HOLIDAYS, Ml 7. TTOLIDAY Excursion Tickets, available for Teturn until May 10, 1017, will bo issued from any station to any station on the North Island Main Lines and Branches from April 8 to f), inclusive. Excursion Tickets, available for same day will be issued from any officered station on the North Island Main Lines and Branches (except Wellington) to any officered station on the South Island Main Lines and Branches (except Lyttelton).
GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL G. On April 0 trains will run as usua' with the following exceptions:— The usual 0.4S a.m. train, Wanganui to New Plymouth, will not run beyond Hawera. The usual 4 p.m. train, Hawera to New Plymouth, will leave Hawera 4,5 p.m., New Plymouth arrive 7:28 p.m. The usual" 2 p.m. train, Waitara to Leppcrton Junction, and 2.35 p.w train, Leppertoii Junction to Waitara, will not run EASTER MONDAY, APRIL 9. On April 9 the 7.413 a.m. train from Now Plymouth will stop at Hawm Racecourse to set down passengers. The 7.25 a.m. train from Hawera will stop at East End Platform (near Fitzrov) to ;et down passengers. The usual 4.25 p.m. train will be delayed to leave New Plymouth 5.30 p.m. for Waitara, Wliangaiuomona and Hawera, This train will stop at East End Platform to take up passengers. The usual 4.0 p.m. train, Hawera to New Plymouth, will leave Haw»ra 4.20 p.m., Hawera Racecourse 4.30 p.m.. New Plymouth arrive 7.33 p.m. Special trains will leavg Waitara 6.45 p.m. and fi.35 p.m. for Lepperton Junction. Return trains leave Leppertoii Junction 6.11 p.m. and 7.2 p.m. for Waitara.
No Goods or Live Stock will be accepted on April 0 and 9, and Goods Sheds will be closed on days. For further particulars see Posters and Booklets. Booklets are obtainable at all Railway Stations.
