The eruptions caused much irritation, thus making me scratch them which made them worse. The eruptions were about the size of a sixpence but were beginning fo spread larger. DIPHTHERIA-HOW IT MAY BE AVOIDED.

Diphtheria is usually, contracted when the child has a cold. The cold prepares the child's system for the reception of germs. When there are cases of diphtheria in the neighborhood children that have colds should be kept at home and off the street until recovered.
