HIGH COMMISSIONER'S IMPORT. The High Commissioner's market report, dated London, March 17, is as follows, the quotations, unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot:— Meat.—Owing to decreasing sup plies of home-killed mutton and beef, there is better demand for all descriptions of frozen meat, with the result that Argentine mutton and lamb prices are higher. New- Zealand mutton and lamb is in small supply, and prices are unchanged. New Zealand and Australian matlon S%d, ewe mutton S'/.d; Argentine mutton, heavyweight IfrM lightweight ll'/ 2 d; New Zealand lamb, 10d; Argentine lamb, 13d; Aetv Zealand bull beef. Jiinds !kl, fores Sid (small supplies). ■ Argentine beef is in fair supply. Argentine "h.lied beef, hinds 11 5-Bd, fores 10Jd. Butter.—Prices have an easier tendency. The demand .is mostly for salted butter. Unsalted butter is in slow demand. There are no arrivals. New Zealand butter, per cwt.. 218s to 2245, unsalted 21« E to 2205; Australian 2Wis to 2145, unsalted 204s to 21?s- Argentine, 204s to 200s; American ercainciy, 2145. The cheese market continues lirm, and the stocks are very light. Canadian white or colored lalis; United States flats 100s; English cheddar, no quotation. No supplies are available. The hemp market is firm with an upward tendency. There, is general and active demand, owing to stocks boiiis? almost exhausted. Good fair New Zealand €73, fair €7O; Government graded fair .Manila €O2, coarse .€77. March to May shipment, good fair New Zealand €7l, fair JECSj Government gradfair Manila £9O, coarse £7o. These prices are obtainable if shipment can be guaranteed.

The wheat market, is firm with improved demand. Very little is offered in the market. Australian S4s; Canadian S2s; Argentine 81s.

The oats market is active and advancing. Supplies are decreasing. New Zealand 525.
