(From Our Own Correspondent]. Inglewood, March 20. The Tennis Club's tournament on Thursday was a great success there being very large entries for each event, andtiie finals resulted as follows: I Men's doubles—Young and Armstrong beat Harvie and Hamilton, .40—24. Ladies' doubles—Mesdames Ballard and Melntyre beat Mrs. Hynes and Miss Evans, 30—23. Combined doubles-Cutftcld ana Miss Mitting beat Hamilton and Mrs. Melntyre, 03—25. A very pretty wedding of considerate local interest was solemnised in St. Andrew's church on Wednesday, the Rev. E. L. Harvie officiating. The contracting nartics were Mr. Robert Edward Codd, youngest son of Mr. B. Codd, of Inglewood, and Mrs. Beatrice Louisa Robinson, late of Grimsby, England. The bride was daintily attired in white embroidered voile, witlv veil and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouquet, and the bridesmaids, Misses Beryl Williams (chief) wore white frosted voile, with panama hat with large bows, and Margery Robinson, daughter or" the bride, wore white embroidered silk and hat on suite, and both carried basjects of lovely llowers. The bride was given away by Mr. B. Codd, and Mr. V. Maidment, "of Wellington, acted as best man. The-bridegroom and best man have just returned from active service and wore their uniforms, which gave quite" a military touch to -the event. The Wesleyan church have just held their Harvest Festival, aiul had a most successful sale of produce, etc., on Monday evening. I understand that the net proceeds amount to about £33, which is considerably ahead of previous records, which must be gratifying to those responsible for the effort. The following cases were dealt with at the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court on "Fridav. Mr. A. Crooke .presiding:—Matthews & Gainlin v. T. Clark, £4 2s 2d, costs His: Lawe v. J. Young, £l2 14s til, costs £2 :!s lid. Judgment for plain-tilVs-hi each case. Mrs. Barford, for failing to connect premises with sewerage, was proceeded against by the Borough Council, us also were 0. Christoffer, M. Hartigan, and J. Sutherland, for allowing horses to wander. Fined 5s and costs 7s in each ease. J. Thomas, for driving without lights, fined us, costs 7s. In connection with a. charge against V. \V. Eager, for being on licensed premises on a, Sunday, after considerable eviI donee had hem given the Magistrate , gave judgment in favor of defendant, I without prejudice.
