SALVATION ARMY'S HOSTEL. AT PEATHERSTON CAMP. OPENING CEREMONY. Wellington, Last Night. The Salvation Army hostel for soldiers' relatives visiting Featherston Camp was opened to-day by Colonel Adams (Camp Commandant). Commissioner Hodder, of the Salvation Army, presided. Mrs. Adams turned the key. The bugle band and Featherston brass band were in attendance, while representatives of every company in the zcxd Reinforcements acted as a guard of honor. A large number of people representing the Wairarapa district were present. The hostel contains 40 rooms, with all conveniences, and eyery room had been booked before the erection of the building, which was completed within four weeks of the driving of the first pile. Additional rooms or whares are already being asked for, and 25 are now in course of erection. ) RETURNED OFFICERS. Auckland, Last Night. Several New Zealand officers returnng from the war were passengers by the ocean steamer which arrived to-day. Those for southern ports were: Captains A. J. Millard and W. C. Barley, Lieutenants K. Williams, H. S. Montgomery, E. Wastney, and E. E. Sommerville. Several Australian officers were also aboard.
