SHOOTING AFFAIR.

StOUNQ WOMAN WOUNDED, Dunedin, March 17. A girl named Buby McKnight, of C&versham, employed as a typiste at the Milburn Lime and Cement Company's office, ivas shot in the chest on Friday night, and a young man named Arthur William Ledgerwood lias been arrested on a charge of attempted murder. The full facts are not yet available, but it is stated that Miss McKnight, at the inivtation of Ledgerwood, went to tea at Ledgerwood's parents' dence, at the corner of Hanovor and Leith streets, and during the evening she was shot in the chest. Medical examination showed that the bullet had penetrated the girl's body, end is now lodged in her back. The wound is serious, but fatal results are not expected. The injured gir! has not yet been removed from Ledgerwood's place.
