FIRES.
AN OUTBREAK AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 17. A fire occurred at three o'clock this morning in a block of buildings on the Strand, owned by J. W. Hardley, of Auckland. It commenced in a shop occupied by H. H. England anj Co., seed mcrshop of J. Ricketts, drapers. England's is practically a total loss, and Ricketts' is badly damaged by the fire and water. The insurances on the building are:— England's £350, and Ricketts' £4OO, and on the stock, England's £4OO, Ricketts' £IOOO.
