THE WAR CONFERENCE.
MOVEMENTS OF NEW ZEALAND'S REPRESENTATIVES. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, March S. The development of the political situation in the Commonwealth probably means that Australia will not be represented at the War Conference in London. The statesmen from other parts of the Empire have already been kept waiting while the Federal Government made up its mind what it was going to do. and now that Mr. Hughes has announced his intention to hoJd a general election it seems unlikely that they will wait any longer. There is an Impression here that Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, at any rate, will not be willing to remain in London very much longer. It does not appear to be certain that Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward will return to New Zealand at the same time. The turn of events in Europe may make it desirable that New Zealand should continue to be represented in London by a member of the National Government for some time to come, and •in that case one of the 'party leaders '.night bo left there. No official informlation is available regarding their movements or their plans.
