PATRIOTIC WORK.
GOLFERS' DAY AT THE MART. On Saturday the golfers of the town were iu charge of the Mart., and they had a very successful day. A wide assortment of homo produce was given, and the publio bought freely. As the result of the day's effort, £SO was realised. Several competitions were held during the day, the prizes and winners being:—Ham, Mrs Greatback; slb tin of tea, Miss Gilbert; canary, Mr T. Powell; golf club, Mr Haw'ko: golf balls sets),Mr W. Wood; golf balls, Miss D. Simpson. The combined committee of the Women's Patriotic League and the Red Cross Society are grateful for their assistance. The following ladies were responsible for the success of the Mart.: : Mesdamcs Johns, Walker, Quilliam, Dell, 'Penn, Glenn; Misses Collis, Klrkby, i Brewster, Oliver, Rend. Xext Saturday • ■ the Mart will be conducted by resident* of Hurworth Eoad.
