OFFICIAL REPORTS.
London, March 8. A' German official report says:— There was violent artillery work on the right bank of the Somme. We repulsed British attacks east of Bouchavesnes. We repulsed Russian attacks south of Bnyeyamy, and in the southern wooded Carpathians. An Italian official report says:—We repulsed repeated attacks at Costabella with heavy losses and renewed our attacks south-east of Dertooba, on the Italian front. A wireless Russian official message says:—ln the Caucasus we are pursuing the Turks, who are withdrawing to Bodjarsonne. We occupied the villages of Hu&seitabad and Chariak. We attacked the summit of Asabadad, in the direction of Hamadan, and south-west of Abzelake we are pursuing the Turks towards Dovletabad. Our j airships bombed Barangvitchi.
CHINA, ALLIES CLOSELY CO-OPERATING. London, March 0. In connection with the Pekin situation it is learned that the Allies are closely co-operating in advising China. Conversations are proceeding in connection with financial assistance ■in the event of a break with Germany. This will take the iorra of a postponement of the Boxer indemnity and a revision oi the Customs tariff. The leading people in China favor a severance of relations, but technical difficulties are in the way which the President desires to overcome before as- | senting. The Cabinet has resigned, and. several'' Ministers have departed i for Tientsin. Efforts are being made to effect a reconciliation,
