The actual weight of the sheep was 2041b5. Messrs J. 11. Allen (Tikorangi) 2031b5, G. A Adlam (Oakura), 2031b5, J. J. Collins 205 ibs, C. W. Sartcn 2051b5, It. P. Lye 2051bs and P. Hodson 2051bs all tied, and tako 10s each. BOVS' COW JUDGING.

Mr E. Griffiths has announced his decision in the boys' cow judging competition, in which 5S boys from Waitara, Tarurutangi, Frankley Road, Hillsborough, Puniho, New Plymouth Technical College, and New Plymouth High School competed. The first two prize winners hail from the Frankley Road school, which also takes the fourth and fifth places, an excellent performance. A lad from Puniho was third. GENERAL. • In Berkshire pigs, the championship was won by a sow under 12 months, exhibited by Messrs Stewart and Landsperg, of Normanby. A sow under six months, owned by Guy Bell, of Oakura, which gained first prize in its section, was credited with the championship through the pens being altered. In the competition for the best bareback pony rider, the judges were unable to decide between Dorothy Cleaver, of Hawera and Leo Cleaver. The judge and Mi- 11. Linn each augmented the guinea prize by a donation of ss, and each winner was awarded 15/0. When Mr W. J. Rose's (Tikorangi) pony Pehoi won the maiden pony jumping competition, the prize for which was £2, the owner made the Society the handsome donation of £5. It is pleasing to chronicle that this fine sport's horse Black Jack won the jumping competition, steeplechase style, wheh was the next event. The points prizes have not vet been made up.

The Corinna this week shipped 4205 crates of cheese from the works at matufoil for transhipment at Wellington. Next Saturday it is expected that the panic steamer will ship another' 4500 crates. On Monday, owing to there being no connecting steamer, 4500 boxes of butter will be forwarded to Wellington by rail.
