At the Methodist Conference a memorial from Gisborn,e asking for tin-' withdrawal of the home missionary and assistant-minister was not entertained. The general report on church property was . received and adopted. It showed that all efforts in the way of church enlargement-; and improvements had gen. orally been greatly restricted during the year owing to the war. Church property had an income of £43,000, and expenditure of £51,000. Both show a falling oil' owing to few new enterprises. The total indebtedness had been reduced (o I.'OOrO. Insurance increased to £14,001). The church building loan fund showed new loans during the year of £l-W2 and repayments ,£513. Special consideration was given to the position at Coromandel, -where fin - uncial difficulties had arisen owing to the decline of population. The matter was left in the hands of the committee. The Rev. S. Lawry was re-appointed authorised representative and custodian of dceits, The Connexional Fire Insurance Fund showed an increase in assets for the year of £705. The total assets are now over £Boop. Insurance levies showed an inUT.'ite of £H!2. The Lev. T. Francis .Tones was welcomed back to regular 'work. The following were received on probation: J.
