William Henrvy JlcKee, a single man aged 31! years, was found (lead in a mi ter race on Alfard Forest road early ii the morning. He li'ad been riding a bi cycle and had fallen oft' and been drowned. When discovered ms head was in the race and his feet on a culvert. DROWNED WHILE SURF BATHTNG. W T iUhi, Feb. '2O. William Patten, aged 32, was tall.v drowned yesterday while surfbathing at Waihi beach. A party oi four, including young women, got into difficulties, and big. quick, succe =,j 've rollers and ebb tide rendered rescue difficult. Three were got out by the aid of a life line but Fatten, after a long struggle, finally disappeared 300 yards from shore. Deceased came from Australia and was a widower with three young children living at B-iilrut.
