FIRE AT AUCKLAND.
— <=> Auckland, Feb. 24. A fire occurred this afternoon at Hart Bros., general emporium, Queen street. The outbreak originated in the umbrella department, and spread rapidly in an inflammable, stock before the brigade's arrival, after which it was promptly suppressed. Considerable damage was done by water to stocks in the basement. Practically no damage was done to the building. The estimated loss is | £2OOO or enooo. The insurance on the
stock is £9OOO in t/e United Insurance Company.
