national service advocated. London, Feb. 23. Mr. Borden, interviewed, said that Cattiada was throwing her whole strength into the war. Four hundred thousand men had already crossed the Atlantic, and further recruiting was being considered. Over 300,000 men and women were working in munition factories. Canada has raised 00 million sterling since the war, besides assisting Britain to the extent of 50 millions for munitions. The idea of national service was increasingly impressing itself on Canadians and everywhere leagues had been formed for co-ordinating and utilising the people's energies.
