BOWLING.

MEETING OF TARANAKICENTRE. A meeting of the Taranaki Bowling Centre was held in the New Plymouth Bowling Club's pavilion on Friday, when' the members present were: Messrs W. E. Percival (ohair), F. ,J. Bellringer, J. 1). Sole and O. N. Firth. Accounts as set out in the balancesheet of the annual tournament were passed for payment. A pairs tournament, as previously arranged, is to be held during the Easter holidays, greens, etc., to be fixed at a later date, entries to close on March 24. Messrs J. 1"). Sole, 0. N. Firth and A. IC. Smart were appointed a committee to arrange details and drawings. EASTER PAIRS TOURNAMENT. It has been decided by the Taranaki Bowling Centre to hold a pairs tournament on Good Friday, -Saturday and Easter Monday, April 'ii, 7 and 9. The games to be played, if sufficient' entries are received, on three of the country greens, Inglewood, Stratford and -Hawera being suggested. The tournament is to be confined to only those clubs affiliated to the Taranaki Centrfc. Games will be sixteen heads lip and every fee 10s per pair. Trophies are to be awarded to the winners and runners up.

FITZKOY DEFEATS NEW 'PLYMOUTH.

In ideal- 1 weather the Gilnwir Cup matches were continued on Saturday. On the town green Fitzrov met threo New Plymouth B team, and defeated them by 85 to 5!). The green was heavy and difficult at first, but improved as play proceeded. At two of the rinks the games were very close, but Luseombe, although favored with a start of 12 up before Smith scored, finally went down badly. Smith was playing well, and Beadle was in excellent form, Oxenham being as consistently a good lead as usual. Details of play are as follows, New Plymouth being mentioned first in each rink:— Waugh, Ingram, Brookman, Colvile (s) 21 v. Roberts, Brash, Bennett, Lealand (s) 22. Binnie, MoKellar, P. Smith, Luseombe (a) Mi v. Oxenham, Beadle, Weller,' Smith (s) 30. Paton, floodacre, Cock, Ewing (s) 22 v. Walker, Hopkins, Jury, Higgs (s) 24. NEW PLYMOUTH 'A' DEFEAT WEST END. At the West End green New Plymouth 'A' defeated West End by 6 pts. New Plymouth were up in two rinks and down in one. The game proved very interesting and enjoyable. Details, New Plymouth 'A' being mentioned first:— Chancy, Mcllrtiy, Burgess, Bary (s) 23 v. Thompson, McAllum, Johnson, Sole (a) 27.

Winfield, Hooper, Wood, Smart (s) 26 v. Keith, Tounslfy, Curtis, Oliver (s) 24.

Cutfield, Brooking. Phillips, Johnson (s) 23 v. Hooker, Honeyfield, Newell, Hill (s) 15.
