Owing to the enlistment of over BOG teachers the shortage of fully qualified teachers is being increasingly felt. With the view of retaining as long as possible the services of the oldest teachers who might claim to be retired unde* the extended provisions of the Superam nuation Act before they reach the full retiring age, the Teachers' Superannua* < ion Board has decided that during tM currency of the war it will not consider favorably any application for retirement under these provisions, except in cases where it is clearly shown that it ia in tho interests of the education servlc# that the retirement should be allowed*
