For three weeks Northern France has been held in the grip of the ice king, and the canals and ponds are frozen. Tha .New Zealanders have had little fighting. The Germans attempted a raid, which was promptly stopped by our artillery barrage. We made two small raids. In one a corporal and 15 men cleverly cut out an enemy sentry post, killing eight' and capturing two. We sustained no casualties. On one. occasion the Germans entered our front line, but our casualties were only two men slightly wounded. The health of the force continues ,to be good. ENEMY ■ TRENOHES PENETRATED.
