TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

Intending exhibitors at the Taranaki Metropolitan Agricultural Society's forthcoming Autumn Show are reminded that entries close to-day (Saturday, February 17) at the secretary's office, Currie street, at 9 a.m.

Since the printing, of the schedule several handsome specials have been donated by well-wishers of the SocietyMr. Harry Lcpper, of Lepperton, has generously donated a 20-guinea, silver cup as a challenge fropliy for most points scored in the Jersey section. Mr. Newton King has donated a 25-guinea, siiver cup as a challenge trophy for Stoat points scored in Holslein section ami Messrs. Olson Bros., W. Hall and James Burgess, well known Ayrshire breeders, have donated a challenge trophy valued at 20 guineas to be competed for in the Ayrshire section, so that ea.cn of the three promipent dairy sections has now a valuable trophy to be competed for, which should act as an added incentive to breeders to enter their cattle.

A particularly interesting feature of this year's show will be the Boys' Cow Judging Competition. This will takd place on Thursday morning commencing at 9 a.m., not, Wednesday as stated in the schedule. Boys coming in by train will commence judging when they arrive. Three grade Jersey cows are to be judged, the judging to be done on a score card, a schedule of points and W' structions being supplied to each competitor. Boys under 18 years are eligible to compete. The time for closing of entries in 'this particular 'class has been extended to February 27 and fully 50' entries are anticipated. The entry fee is Is. The proprietors of the Taranaki Herald have generously donated specials of £2 2s and £1 1b for this cias?.
