SETTLING SOLDIERS AFTER THE WAR.
A COMMITTEE APPOINTED. Received Feb. 16, 5.5 p.m. London, February 15. The Press Bureau states that Mr. Long has appointed & committee of twentyfive to report oA-measures for settling within the Empi\o ex-soldiers desiring to emigrate after the war; to collect information from the troops, and to make recommendations as to the steps that Britain shall take in concert with the dominie, is with a view to constituting a central authority to supervise and assist emigration. Lord Tennyson i 3 chairman, the others members including Lord Burnham, Sir Rider Haggard, Mr. Steel-Maitland, Commissioner Lamb (Salvation Army), the High Commissioners, Agents-General, and others who are memoers of the House of Commons and Government officials.
