CALLING OUT THE MILITIA. TO RELEASE TROOPS FOR OVERSEAS. Received Feb. 6, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, Feb. 15. The Government is considering the calling out of the Militia under the compulsory provisions of the Militia Act, in order to guard the American border and thereby release 50.000 troops in Canada for overseas. It is believed that voluntaryism will be first tried, and then if recruits for home service are unrequitable compulsion will be enforced.
