OUR SOLDIERS' MILK. NOVEL USE AT SALONIKA. A signaller with the Salonika Force gives in a recent letter a nicy ace, of how tinned milk is used to make the soldiers' rations more palatable. II" says: "In a village seven miles awa is a Oreek enterprising enough to keep a shop. He only sells Greek fags, biscuits and chocolate (both very dear), and what we think most of—-Nestles Milk at Is 3d a tin. What a wonderful tiling is Nestle's Milk! After bread it is what we think most of. It. makes any dish good. We cat it from the tin; dnnk it with hot or cold water; spread it on bread, l't takes the place of sugar and milk wilh oatmeal or rice; boiled with powdered biscuits it makes even these prodigies of hatel'ulncss palatable. Lastly, wc have found a new use: In this district are quantities of wild plums which are very good when boiled, but too sour, and as sugar is unobtainable, wi' fall back once more on Leslie's. The only thing i< fails with is bully beef, Irving too sweet for making onion sauce."
