THE LATE DR. McNAB.
NO WILL DISCOVERED. Wellington, Thursday. Search in every direction has failed to bring to light fflie will of the late Hon. Dr. McNab, if there is any document of the kind in existence. The deceased gentleman was always reserved in regard to private affairs, and is said to have mentioned some years ago that he would not trouble to maJce a will, but would leave the disposition of his property to the operation of the law. This would result in the estate being handed to the Public Trustee for administration, and it is understood that the Public Trust Office already has Oho late, Minister's affairs in hand. The operation of the la<w in regard to intestate estates in New Zealand would preclude'any possibility of public benefactions, but this had been considered by the deceased in Ills lifetime, for he made over the whole of his valuable collection of books on New Zealand to the City of Dunedin. This generous act caused liim some personal inconvenience in continuing his historical work, and for that reason 'Jie had begun to collect duplicates or many of the more important volumes.
