THE EMPIRE.

DCSTIX FARNUM IN MAN FROM INDIANA.''

Tho star picture on the change of programme at the Empire to-night is the film representation of Booth Turkington's story of life in Platville, "The Uentleman from Indiana." Booth Tarkington's stories are immensely popular for their true-to-life characters, anil this one is no exception to the rule. The leading role is taken by Dustin Farnum, the hero of the "Iron' Strain," who as John Harkless, after leaving the university (inhere he had been one of the leading football stars), plunges into the thick of Indiana politics, through purchasing the I'latviile Herald, and fearltssly smashes the corrupt political machine of Rodney McCune. It is diilicult to describe adequately the smooth ncss of the action, the transition from scene to scene, as Mr. Farmim lives, not acts, the part of the.. character he ib playing. Those who like a strong love story of a real man and a real woman will not ho disappointed. The photoplay is one that will ho enjoyed froiii beginning to end. The supporting items are well up to standard. The programme will be repeated each night for the remainder oi the week.
