lIIGII COMMISSIONER'S MARKET REPORT.

The ftepnrtment of Agriculture, Incliistiies, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated February 10. from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (Note.—Quotations, unless otherwise, specified, are average numtei prices on spot):

Meat.—There is a less demand for all descriptions of frozen meat. Owing to large supply, Home-killed mutton and licef selling' at comparatively low prices. New Zealand mutton and lamb priceare unchanged. Argentine ..i,.»'aa itnd lamb prices are higher. Holders are nor anxious to sell. , Butter.—The market is rather unsettled on account of no arrivals. No official quotations with the exception of French, 203s to 208s per cwt.; Irish factory 104s to 198s. Cheese. —The market continues firm. Steady rise in prices recorded owing to continued small supply. Canadian, white, per cwt.., 154s to ISUs; English Cheddar, 15Ss to 1UOs; States Flats 148s to 150s.

Hemp.—The market remains firm. A small supply. Market, advancing owing to strong demand. Quotations are nominal. Good fair fair .I'iM. -Febru-ary-April shipment: Good fair Cfili, fai: .(jilt. Government graded: Fair Manila .CNO, coarse ;C(!5. The output of hemp at Manila for the week ending last Saturday was 22,000 bales. Wheat.—There is a firm market.
