RUMORED RETIREMENT OF JUSTICE DENNISTON. MR. HERD.VAN PROBABLY FILL VACANCY. / (From Our Own Correspondent.) Monday, Feb. ]•». .The announcement that a knighthood has been conferred upon Mr. Justice Denniston is bound to revive the rumor that has been in. circulation for many months past, to the effect that Mr. Justice Denniston,is about to retire, and that the vacancy thus created on the Hench will be filled by the Hon. A. L. Herdman. Attorney-General. It may he mentioned in this connection that 'Mr llordman's place in the National Cabinet would not easily be filled, and that Ins colleagues would be loth to spare luni, particularly during the absence of the two leaders. The Attornev-Gcneral has given a very great deal of'time and thought, as well as professional skill, to the preparation and revision of the various War Regulations.
