If it 'were possible to measure the success of tlie Taranaki Agricultural Society's forthcoming show by the interest that both town and country people are | taking in it, then it is to surpass nil those of previous years. This Is the fcrty-second annual shew of the Soc'ety, and the experien:e of.years, coupled with the desire '.-j do the utmost 'V the enjoyment uf patrons and the comfort of all classes of stock, is sure to be appreciated by everybody. The various committees are frequently nicet'ii/; now for the purpose of attending to ohe numerous details so important to ensure a smoothly-running show. The New 'Plymouth Citizens' Band has hem engaged to provide the music on the Thursday (People's Day), and lovers of music are promised the usual excellent programme that our band is becoming noted for. The Hon. J. Allen, Minister for Defence, has kindly consented to open the first show on the new grounds, the ceremony to take place on Thursday (People's Day), nt 1.30 p.m. Special train arrangements have been made for both days, and ' ■ i-il committees set up to meet train-, io" .'eying stock. Numbers of suitable paddocks handy to the grounds have been secured for the accommodation of animals. Entries are now coming in in good style, and in several classes the public are promised an exhibition that has never before been seen in the North Island. All that is required now to ensure a successful show is line -weather, so that town and country people alike can attend in large numbers. Don't forget that, entries for this important fixture close next Saturday, 17th inst., at the secretary's ollioe, Currie street, New' Plymouth, nnd that the show dates .are February 28 and March
